Programs Development

Programs

The Programs section of the Curriculum Hub is designed to support faculty and academic staff in creating, revising, and discontinuing academic programs at the University of Connecticut. Whether you are proposing a new degree, updating an existing program, or discontinuing a program that is no longer viable, this section provides the guidance, resources, and tools you need.

This section helps faculty:

  • Ensure that the development of new undergraduate and graduate programs align with university standards and workforce development needs, meet the needs of students, and meet accreditation standards.
  • Revise existing programs to ensure they remain current, aligned with disciplinary and professional standards, and with workforce trends.
  • Discontinue programs that no longer serve the institution’s mission or student demand.

When to Use This Section:

Use this section if you are:

  • Drafting a proposal for a new bachelor’s, master’s, doctoral degree, or graduate certificate.
  • Making modifications to an existing program (e.g., curriculum, learning outcomes, delivery mode, or program name).
  • Submitting a proposal to discontinue a program.
